Roadside repair when a tow is not the best first answer.

For Mechanics

Many breakdowns don’t need a tow truck. TowMeGH is building a mechanic network so that suitable faults are diagnosed and fixed at the roadside, and workshops receive better-prepared customers. Mechanic registration is open. Register your interest and we will contact you about onboarding in your area.

Two ways to take part

Work at the roadside or in your workshop.

You go to the customer

Mobile mechanic

Attend selected faults on site: symptom triage, diagnostics and minor repairs within a safe roadside scope.

The customer comes to you

Workshop partner

Be a trusted repair destination. Customers can name a workshop as their preferred destination, and you receive a customer whose problem is already described.

Scope

What belongs at the roadside and what doesn’t.

Safety decides the scope. When a repair is not safe or practical on site, the job escalates to a tow instead of forcing a bad repair.

Suitable for roadside work

  • Initial symptom triage
  • Diagnostics and warning-light checks
  • Minor mechanical or electrical faults
  • Work that can be done safely without dismantling
  • A clear, safe access position for the vehicle

Escalate to a tow or workshop

  • Complex repairs and dismantling
  • Fuel-system faults or leaks
  • Major electrical faults
  • Collision damage or unsafe steering and brakes
  • Any location where working is unsafe
How it works

How a mechanic job works.

01
Customer describes the problem

The request captures symptoms, vehicle details, warning lights and location.

02
Triage decides the route

Suitable faults are routed to a mechanic; anything else goes to a tow.

03
You attend or receive the vehicle

Mobile mechanics travel to the customer. Workshops receive the vehicle at the agreed destination.

04
Diagnose and fix within scope

Work stays inside a safe roadside scope, with any change to the plan agreed with the customer first.

05
Escalate if needed

If the fault is beyond a safe roadside fix, the job becomes a tow rather than ending in a failed repair.

06
Close the job with a record

The service is recorded so both you and the customer have a clear history.

Requirements

What we look for in mechanic partners.

Requirements are confirmed during onboarding and depend on whether you work mobile, from a workshop or both.

  • Government-issued identification
  • Proof of your trade skills, such as certificates, references or an established workshop
  • Tools and diagnostic equipment suited to the work you offer
  • A workshop address, or a description of your mobile set-up and service area
  • Insurance appropriate to your work, where required
  • A smartphone with GPS and mobile data, and a mobile-money account for payouts
Standards

How mechanic partners are expected to work.

Stay within scope

Don’t attempt unsafe repairs. Recommending a tow is the right call when a fix is beyond a safe roadside scope.

Be clear about cost

Agree the work and the price before you start, and explain any change before you proceed.

Respect the vehicle

Note existing damage, protect the vehicle while you work and return it in the condition you found it, or better.

Questions

Mechanic questions, answered.

Is the mechanic network open now?

Registration is open. Register your interest and we will contact you about onboarding in your area.

Do I need a workshop?

No. Mobile mechanics can register without a fixed workshop, provided they have suitable tools and a clear service area.

What if a job is too complex for the roadside?

Escalate it. The job can become a tow so the vehicle reaches a workshop safely.

How does payment work?

Details are confirmed during onboarding, and partners register their own mobile-money details for payouts.
